Did Jubilee Party announce the closure of its Ol Kalou office due to financial constraints?

A post circulating on X claims that Jubilee Party has begun shutting down some of its county offices because of financial difficulties, starting with its Ol Kalou and Narok offices.

The post shares what appears to be an official Jubilee Party statement dated July 21, 2027, alleging that the closures are part of a nationwide cost-cutting exercise.

The claim surfaced on X alongside the hashtag #BrokeOpposition, with users sharing what appears to be an official Jubilee Party press release announcing the closure of its Ol Kalou and Narok county offices.

If genuine, the announcement would represent a significant development for the opposition party, making verification essential.

VERIFICATION

Piga Firimbi reviewed the purported statement and noted several inconsistencies.

First, the document is dated 21 July 2027, despite being circulated online in July 2026, suggesting it could not have been legitimately issued at the time it was shared.

Piga Firimbi also searched Jubilee Party’s official communication channels, including its website and verified social media accounts, to determine whether the statement had been published and found no record of the purported statement being published on any of the party’s official platforms.

Piga Firimbi also compared the purported statement with a recent official statement issued by Jubilee Party and identified additional inconsistencies. While the purported statement lists only one contact number, the authentic statement includes multiple official contact numbers. The Secretary General’s signature and the signature block also differ from those appearing on the official statement, further raising questions about the authenticity of the circulating document.

Additionally, Piga Firimbi searched the websites and platforms of Nation, The Standard, and Citizen Digital for news reports on the alleged closure of Jubilee Party’s Ol Kalou and Narok county offices. At the time of publication, none had reported the claim, and Piga Firimbi found no independent evidence corroborating the purported statement.
