A purported job advertisement shared on Facebook claims that Naivas supermarket has announced 400 job opportunities.
Background
Naivas Supermarket is one of Kenya’s top retailers, currently running over 60 stores. The supermarket chain has been operating for 30 years and recently opened its latest store in the lakeside city of Kisumu.

Verification
The supermarket routinely announces its initiatives and programs via its Twitter and Facebook pages as well as on its website. The alleged 400 vacancies advertised on the Facebook post are however not mentioned on any of Naivas Supermarket’s official platforms.
The Facebook post also contains a Google form where interested applicants are directed to apply for the alleged jobs. Contrary to the information on the Facebook post, the Google form indicates that there are 235 alleged vacancies available. The form lists 14 positions that are apparently to be filled in various Naivas Supermarket stores across the country. The form further claims that there are 83 Naivas branches in Kenya. According to the retailer, there are 65 Naivas stores currently, the latest being the one at Mega City shopping mall in Kisumu.
Moreover, a second page of the Google form contains instructions directing interested applicants to send an application fee of Ksh 370 to an individual’s M-Pesa account.
Responding to a tweep’s concern, Naivas Supermarket also distanced itself from the job advertisement.

Verdict
The Facebook post claiming that there are 400 vacancies at Naivas Supermarket to be filled is a HOAX.
