Is This Tweet Claiming That Vitamin D Is the Single Most Effective Medicine Against Cancer Accurate?

By Naum Nzioki

This tweet claims that Vitamin D is allegedly, “the single most effective” medicine against cancer supposedly outpacing the benefits of any cancer drug known to modern science.

Cancer is a disease recognized as a leading cause of death worldwide according to the World Health Organization. There is no specific cure for cancer as curing cancer depends on the type and stage of Cancer as well as the type of treatment administered. Only treatments carried out on cancer patients have been prolonging their lives yet some still end up dying from it.

Scientists have recovered several medicines and drugs that found more effective in Cancer treatment, involving surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy.

There is no evidence that Vitamin D  prevents or treats cancer more effectively than existing cancer medicines such as Enzalutamide, Everolimus, Ibrutinib and Rasburicase nor does Vitamin D reduce the Cancer risks.

The National Cancer Institute approved several drugs for cancer depending on the type of cancer, tohelp inhibit cell division and proliferation.

According to WHO there is no proven medicine to cure Cancer and only palliative care is issued to relieve symptoms and suffering caused by cancer together with improving the quality of life of patients and their families.

Vitamin D has not been adopted or proven for use in cancer prevention.

The claim that Vitamin D is supposedly the single most effective medicine against cancer far outpacing the benefits of any cancer drug known to modern science is FALSE.
