Introduction
A viral TikTok video with more than 2 million views posted by user whitemoney.67 claims that the man who recently breached President William Ruto’s security in Kilifi County is the same individual involved in an earlier security incident in Wajir County.
The TikTok user captioned the video “stage managed” while comparing photos from the two separate incidents to suggest that the events may have been coordinated using the same individual.
Background
The claim emerged after a rise in incidents involving breaches of Presidential security during President William Ruto’s public engagements.
On February 12, 2026, during the National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement (NYOTA) event in Wajir County, a man rushed toward the stage while President Ruto was addressing the crowd. Security officers quickly restrained him before he reached the President.
In the aftermath of the incident, several Kenyan media outlets reported that the individual involved was an aspiring politician from Wajir East. In subsequent media interviews, he said he had approached the President to greet him and seek an opportunity to discuss his political ambitions.
Months later, on 24th May 2026, another security breach occurred during a public event in Kilifi County when a different man managed to approach President Ruto before security officers intervened. Following the Kilifi breach, Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja ordered investigations into the incident and announced immediate changes within the Presidential Escort Unit.
Verification
Following the incident in Wajir, several Kenyan media outlets identified the man as Ahmed Muhumed, an MCA aspirant in Wajir East.
Reports on the Kilifi incident did not identify the man involved. Kenyan media outlets described him only as an unidentified man carrying a Bible who approached President William Ruto during the church service.
A frame-by-frame comparison of footage from the two incidents also shows noticeable differences in facial appearance, hairstyle, complexion, clothing, and body build between the individuals captured in the separate videos.

After reviewing frame-by-frame footage from the original videos of both incidents, the images being circulated online to compare the two events appear to be AI-generated and do not accurately reflect what happened in either case.

Verdict
The claim that the same man was involved in both the Wajir and Kilifi security breaches involving President William Ruto is FALSE.
