This tweet (archived) claims to show a school in Fafi (Misspelt Fifa) whose area MP made suggestions of scrapping presidential term limits. The tweet states “He’s focusing on minors.” Fafi is a constituency in Garissa County, Kenya.
Background
On November 8 2022 Fafi Member of Parliament, Salah Yakub, made remarks suggesting that United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party members of parliament were considering presenting a motion to amend the constitution to do away with presidential term limits. He suggested that instead the limit should be set on the basis of age capping the age limit for president at 75 years. The member of parliament’s remarks elicited mixed reactions online with President William Ruto’s UDA party distancing itself from the remarks.
