OLD VIDEO: Uhuru Kenyatta Allegedly Commenting on the Northlands Raid

This tweet bears a video claiming to show Uhuru Kenyatta’s response after goons vandalized his Northlands Farm in Ruiru.

Background

On March 27, 2023, over 100 goons invaded Kenyatta’s family-owned Northlands farm located along the Eastern By-Pass. The looters cut down trees using power saws and stole livestock. Later, they set fire to the farm and part of it was razed down. Journalists who were filming what was happening were attacked with some sustaining injuries.

Verification

A reverse image search of the keyframes generated from the video redirects to a video uploaded on K24’s YouTube channel on August 4, 2022. Retired President Uhuru was addressing his spat with President William Ruto who was his deputy at the time.

Uhuru Kenyatta is yet to address the public since his family property was vandalized. Raila Odinga visited the farm to assess the damage post-invasion.

Verdict

The video claimed to show Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta addressing the public after looting at the Northlands Farm is MISLEADING.
