Was Raila Odinga Recently Hospitalised as Claimed?

This post shared by a Facebook user claims that ODM leader Raila Odinga was rushed to hospital on the evening of June 24, 2022.

Background

As voters prepare to cast their ballots on August 9, 2022, the online community is flooded with misinformation. Piga Firimbi previously looked into a fake statement claimed to have been issued by a politician, among other posts peddling misinformation in the run-up to the polls.

Verification

A reverse search revealed that the image got into the online space much earlier than June 24, 2022. And this is not the first time it has been falsely used. The Daily Nation shared the image in July 9, 2017, when Raila Odinga was rushed to hospital after campaigning in Kilifi.

Verdict

Claims that Raila Odinga was recently hospitalised are FALSE.
