Does This Video Show Police Forcing COVID Vaccination on Australians?

On July 30, 2021, this TikTok video was shared as a tweet with claims that police in Sydney were making arrests to have people forcefully vaccinated. A day later, the same video was tweeted under the same claims.

So far, 14.8% of the World’s population is fully vaccinated. Contributing to this, Europe is on the leaderboard with 40.1% and  Australia comes fourth with 15.8%.

Sydney is on the other hand is nearing its seventh week of a nine-week lockdown. The country’s advisory group on immunization (ATAGI) recommends Pfizer for people aged 16 to 59 years. However, AstraZeneca can be administered to people this age.

Verification

There were not many results of a reverse image search from fragments of this video. However, according to a reply to this tweet, events in the video occurred during a protest in Sydney, which is featured via the hashtags #Sydney #AntiLockdownprotest. 

Going through Youtube videos containing the keywords; ‘Sydney Anti-lockdown protest,’ this video from the protest came up. Between timecode 4’21” and 5’20” this 9-minute long video shows the same video claimed to show a forceful vaccination operation.

According to a statement from the Australian government department of health, vaccination is optional in the country. However, border entry or re-entry is subject and conditional to proof of vaccination. 

Verdict 

This video claiming to show a mobile task unit in Australia forcefully vaccinating people is FALSE.
