But are these and similar vouchers legitimate?
Background
Piga Firimbi has previously looked into similar posts in the past. In this one, for instance, Safaricom is said to have been giving out a Kshs 7,000 gift voucher. With similar questions, they both inquire about the participant’s knowledge of the company.
Another, alleged to be from Naivas asks for participants’ knowledge on the supermarket, their age and gender fact-checked here.
Verification
A search on WhoIs reveals that this website was registered on March 26, 2021 with 21jieyan.cn as its domain name.
Additionally, Google’s transparency report terms this website as being unsafe and warns that it may trick people into providing their personal information or downloading malicious software.
Naivas Supermarket on the other hand had its website registered on November 28, 2007 with naivas.co.ke as its domain name and Safaricom as its registrar (See screen-grab below).
Verdict
This promotion claiming that Naivas Supermarket is giving away Kshs 9,000 is FAKE.
