This link circulated on WhatsApp claims to be advertising 270 jobs at Quickmart Supermarket. It further gives details on the positions available and the salary range.
Background
Every political season, individuals seeking to ascend to power always have the creation of job opportunities in their manifesto. During Kenya Kwanza’s campaigns, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi promised that their government would revive collapsed factories to create job opportunities. This is yet to come to fruition as Kenyans continue grappling with perennial unemployment.
Verification
The link redirects to a Google Form that shows the positions available and the salary to expect. The second page of the form has M-Pesa details where interested candidates are supposed to send Ksh350 to Human Resource Manager Dorine Wandiya. The amount is said to cater to the registration and interview processing.
Piga Firimbi reached out to Quickmart and they dismissed the link as fake. Clarifying that they do not charge a registration fee to any of their applicants.
The advertisement was also not shared on their official Facebook page and Twitter handle.
