Is This Elevated Highway Located in Ghaziabad, India?

This image of an elevated highway has been featured a couple of times in various articles. First, it was published on APN News on March 30, 2018. Later, on August 23, 2021, Roads Alert shared the same photo alongside others of the Nairobi expressway that’s under construction.

Background

The 17-mile Nairobi Expressway intends to connect the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport with the Nairobi-Nakuru highway and will have four lanes. This $550 million project was launched in October 2019 and was undertaken as a  Public-Private Partnership with the China Road and Bridges Construction Corporation(Kenya). 

On the other hand, the Ghaziabad elevated road in India connects commuters from National Highway-24 directly to Raj Nagar extension to Meerut. This project was inaugurated in March 2018. It is believed to be the longest road in India.

Verification

Results show this image was taken 20 years ago in Texas, U.S. According to the Texas Freeway website, the image shows the US183 corridor in Austin, Texas.

Verdict

NO, this image does not show the Nairobi expressway, nor does it show the already completed Ghaziabad elevated highway in India.
