Posters claiming that Uasin Gishu Governor, Jonathan Bii, is missing began surfacing on December 1, 2022, here and here. Another post here claims that residents launched a ‘manhunt’ to find the ‘missing’ governor with a cash reward of US$ 1M.
Background
Jonathan Bii alias ‘Koti Moja’ was declared governor of Uasin Gishu County on August 12, 2022, defeating prominent businessman Zadekiah Bundotich alias Buzeki.
Prior to the general election both candidates participated in a heated debate that was televised, bringing to the spotlight issues such as insecurity and mismanagement that plague Uasin Gishu County.

Verification
Governor Jonathan Bii made a live appearance at a vernacular radio station by the name Emoo FM on December 1, 2022.
The posters were not shared by the official Uasin Gishu County Government Twitter page or reliable news websites.
Additionally, the posters were shared alongside the hashtag #KotiMojaMess which started trending on the morning of December 1, 2022, and died down as the day progressed.
