The video was first shared here and here on Tiktok, showing Azimio La Umoja Party Leader Raila Odinga allegedly admitting defeat in the 2022 general election. In the video, Raila Odinga supposedly says that President William Ruto garnered 8.1 million votes surpassing his 5.9 million votes.

Opposition Leader Raila Odinga has been protesting President William Ruto’s presidency since Ruto was declared winner of the presidential election on August 15, 2022. The Supreme Court of Kenya upheld Ruto’s victory on September 5, 2022, paving way for the swearing-in ceremony that took place on September 13, 2023.
Raila has repeatedly labeled the Kenya Kwanza Government illegitimate. He also called for countrywide protests against the high cost of living which he blames on William Ruto’s administration.

The original video was posted here on the Kenya Digital News YouTube channel. In the original video, Raila Odinga says that he garnered 8.1 million votes against Ruto’s 5.9 million. “William Ruto got 5.9 million votes. We garnered 8.1 million votes. That’s the truth,” he said.
