The Africa Climate Summit kicked off in Nairobi, on September 4, 2023 until September 6, 2023. Being the first conference of its kind in Kenya and Africa, it brought together policymakers, leaders and civil society to chart a path toward mitigating climate change challenges.
President Ruto arrived twice at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre driving an electric vehicle as a symbolic gesture towards a greener future. “I urge everyone to make a contribution to our Generations unprecedented and highly consequential Endeavor to catalyze climate action,” Ruto said in his opening speech.

A reverse image search on Google Lens reveals that the undoctored original image did not include Azziad Nasenya but President Ruto shaking hands with Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya for Environment, Climate Change and Forestry.
